Science Reflection

I have learned many things in only three topics and here are some things that I have learned!

When I was working with everyone in my group, I learned that you have to wait for other and be patient with people. You can't rush anyone or you may mess them up and ruin the WHOLE experiment. It is the same when people rush you you could ruin the whole thing. You can't play the blame game when someone messes up something. You have to help them clean up and redo it because it could have been your fault they messed up.

My thinking has been pushed a lot through out the 3 lessons. I have had to think up new ideas so my group could do something fun. It was sorta the same when we were making Atom Models. That was a tough one for some people! Although it was tough sometimes it was also SO MUCH FUN!

My favorite experiment was when we got to mix all of the reacts in a bag and it blew up with air. I liked it because we all got to do something and it was one of the best experiments! I bet a lot of people agree with me!

Christalite Methodist Home

Today, we went to the Christalite Methodist Home.  The home helps people who are homeless or need help. We went there to decorate Santa Hats with them. Everyone I decorated hats with was very friendly but some didn't speak english. There was one lady that had asked me for a bracelet that was on my wrist. I promised her that I would get her one too! I had a lot of fun being the teacher for a day and I bet everyone else had a fun time too.

It made me feel very good that I could help someone else feel happy and create something nice. I hope all the old people at the home had a good time with us. I would feel really happy if I were the old folks who got to create some awesome hats. 

I bet the old folks also had a good time listening to us sing. We sung "Feliz Navidad","Silent Night", "Jingle Bells" and  "We wish you a Merry Christmas ". They all clapped after we had finished each of our songs. When we were singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas" (Our last song) one of the old folks started swaying back and forth then everyone on stage did too!

I think this has been the greatest field trip ever so far this year! I really enjoyed it and I hope everyone else did too. I think the old folks had the best time out of all of us because they got to create that awesome hats!

I think the message of Wonder is never judge a book by it's cover. I think that because when everybody looked at August they got scared ,looked away or just kept staring. Before you judge someone you have to get to know them first. You shouldn't just look at someone and just assume if they are nice or not.

 Everyone thought that Auggie was a freak because of his face and he had almost no friends at all because everyone was too scared to go over and talk to him or touch him. Summer and Jack were his only friends. Julian was bullying Auggie because of his face. Julian had also bullied Jack for being friends with Auggie. I aren't too quick to assume things like a lot of people in Wonder.

Reason: You HAVE to read The Westing Game  because it is a Action/Mystery book. It is a Proficient or a U-V book.

The Westing Game is set in “Sunset Towers” 5 miles off of Lake Michigan.

There are 16 heirs (Players) that are playing the game. The object of the game is to find the murder and get the Westing fortune. I can't tell you the ending of the book so here are some other books Ellen Raskin wrote were The Tattooed Potato and Other Clues , Who,Said Sue,Said Whoo? , A Murder for Macaroni and Cheese , Figgs and Phantoms , It Rained , Twenty-Two, Twenty-Three. You really have to O.M.G.Y.H.T.R.T.B.! I know I loved it!

Shark Finning is BAD

I think one thing I did well was that I came in with facts for my first paragraph to give them an idea about how many sharks we kill. At times I think I might have been playing the blame game but I took the part out.

I could work on trying to not to blame people for what ever I am writing about. I did that a couple times in this writing and I had to take it out.

Meaghan's Push-Up's and Crunches

I think one of my area's of strength are when I go down, I mostly keep my arms in a right angle.

One of my area's of improvement is keeping my butt down because it is sticking up into the air  







One of my area's of strength is that I bring my hands up to my knee's.
One of my area's for improvement is that I can come down softer and not hit my head and back so hard on the ground.

Meaghan's Typing Progress

The Best Day EVER!!

Guess where we went today! The Science Center is where we went.  We did tons of fun things and had a great time! One thing I learned today was that it is REALLY HARD to make candy! I don't get how we did it! How do the big candy factory's do this every day? We had to do everything. Alexa's dad (and some of the teachers) only helped us a little bit. We had to stir the mixture for the lollipops and agree on the flavor and the color! We even boiled our mixture and let's just say they were not the most best tasting lollipops on earth! My group had a little trouble agreeing on our flavor and color for our lollipops, but we got it figured out!  We also got to make some COTTON CANDY! I think that they should not have given us that much sugar. When we were waiting for the cotton candy machine to warm up, I got tired of waiting for my lollipop to cool down and get to a perfect form. I couldn't wait to eat my lemon flavored, orange colored lollipop, so I tried to rip it out of the paper, but that didn't really work out to well. I ended up with a sticky  and a paper pop.



Alexa, Amber and Me all went to the gift shop to buy some snazzy stuff for our selves! Let's just say I used up all my money on a GIANT pencil and two of the animal heads that you can steal other people's stuff with! I wonder if I will ever steal someone else's stuff with one of those. Or maybe I could reach stuff that is up higher than I can reach! I WILL BE UNSTOPPABLE!

Mrs.Clayton Almost getting fried!

Have you ever seen someone almost get fried? Well, I have seen 2 people almost get fried by lighting! Mrs.C almost got fried today! My mom was the first who almost got fried! I want to do this SO badly now! It looks so fun doesn't it?!

We also got to play around and eat lunch/snack in the garden out behind the Science Center! That was really fun! I played with Alexa and Amber in the garden. We got to go on this big wheel thingy and Alexa's dad pushed us around. We fell all over the place! Even on each other!

Whew! That was a FUN day! I bet Mrs.Clayton had a lot of fun in the lighting cage!

Why I deserve a day off from School

I deserve a day off from school because I have been overworked! I can't believe it has been 5 weeks of just homework and school! I just need to sleep in. My brain hurts so much. I have done to much thinking. My body and my brain are really tired and overworked.

I had 2 tests today. I am horrible in both subjects. The two tests were Math and Chinese. I saw my score from the math and it wasn't to shabby, but I don't know what the chinese test will bring. My body just needs a 4 day weekend and I am really glad that we get one! I can't handle two more days of math and school in general!

My brain just needs to melt with the internet, Minecraft and T.V. I really hope my body gets to relax. I also get to play with my 2 best friends! I get to play with my 2 black labs, Jet and Max!I hope my mom doesn't give me MATH!! I hate math right now. We had 4 pages in 1 night. That got me really angry at math. It also got my mom angry. That is why I deserve a day off!

If I Was My Own Parent

Hello Today I will be blogging about if I was my own parent!

Hello! I am Meaghan's Mom and today I will tell you about my Amazing daughter Meaghan. Meaghan is the last of four kids. She is 10 years old. One thing I would say that is good about Meaghan is that she is very funny and tries to make everyone laugh. She also tries to be everyone's friend! She is great at reading, writing and not so good at math. Meaghan tries to be a friend to everyone. I hope she is nice to everyone at school because I can't count on her to be alone with her sister and two brothers!

She is the definitely the loudest out of my children but I am happy to hear all of her funny jokes and stories about school! If anyone says something mean to Meaghan or her friends she will tell them to back off and leave her or her friends alone! She just has that pizzazz! She loves to tell jokes and laugh and I hope she stays the same as she grows up! If you know her well enough you will know she loves Moustaches, Rainbows and Unicorns. She won't give up if you tell her too and she will say "HELLO FRIEND!" to almost anyone is the hallways at school and everywhere else. I hope she will collect many new friends this way!

She just has a awesome personality! Also some of her favorite words are Awesome, Amazing, Rainbows, Majestic, Magic and Unicorns! I don't know why she loves those words but she does. She uses them on a daily basis! I hope she uses some of them in class! But only in the right times. Being OutDoors makes her very happy. She loves to play BasketBall, Rugby and Tennis!

• One thing in my area of strength is that I don't let my feet come off the ground.
• Also I come up and hit my knee's with the palms of my hands.

• One thing in my area of improvement is that I go down very fast. I need to go down slower.
• I hit the ground very hard. I hurt my back that way a lot and I don't do as many sit ups as I can.

My Book Recommendation: Dewey: The Story Of A Library Cat

Dewey: The Story of a Library cat by Vicki Myron

If you want a AMAZING book to read I suggest you read "Dewey: The story of a library cat".

I would recommend you this book because it is Humorous, Heart-Warming and just in general a nice book to read. You could make a lot of connections in this book to your everyday life. It is a Non-Fiction book. It is a S-T book AKA a Fluent book. It is about how they found Dewey, Named him, How he helped everyone who came to the library. It has A LOT of details from Vicki about Dewey and her own life. It has some parts where it is in Dewey's perspective. I can't tell you everything so here's where it comes to an end on my book recommendation about Dewey: The story of a Library Cat. I think you would love this book even more if you loved animals and if you really LOVE cats! I hope you enjoy this book if you get to read it! It is one of my favorite books by the way!

Percy Jackson: My new best friend

Who's your favorite book character? Imagine if they were your BEST FRIEND!!!! What would your's be? Mine would be Percy Jackson. Why? Because if you had a best friend that was a half a sea god you would like it too. That's right Percy is the son of poseidon. You got to admit that would be pretty cool to just be like sitting at home for the weekend and then Percy Jackson calls you and is saying "Hey, You wanna come over to my house and ride some Rainbow fish horses?" (I forgot what they are called) "Ok, sounds like fun. Be over in 5 minutes.".

Another reason is if someone is being mean to you or is bulling you, You can just tell Percy and BOOM problem gone.

It would be pretty AWESOME to have Percy Jackson as a best friend just because he will stand by you no matter what and he is a good friend to everyone. Also he can control water and that is like 3/4 of the world. He also has really amazing friends in the books he is featured in. Like Annabelle, She is really smart because she is the daughter of Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom. If you are friends with Percy you have to be friends with his other close friends right?

Who would your best friend be? Mine would be Percy Jackson as you can tell by this essay.

Reflection Of The first Two Weeks

When school started I was really happy to see all of my old friends (Alexa,Amber,Julia and Vainavi).
I had a lot of fun in the first week of school. I played with Alexa and Amber on the first and second week. We always play Color Tag at lunch recess. The Second week was just as fun! But we went to the water park on friday so that made the second week even MORE AWESOME!!!! Me,Alexa and Amber All stuck with each other for the water park. It was really fun. We went in the wave pool,The Lazy River,The Yellow Water slide and the purple Water slide that needed a tube.On the first week we also took our Rock Star pictures. That was really fun! I have to say I am looking forward to being a Rock Star in Mrs.Clayton's 5 Grade class! To the people in Mrs.Clayton's Class next year, I hope you have a great time!! I know I will!

Use your back round knowledge

Look at the URL

Make sure the picture or info seems VERY real

Things I learned

Add More words to the original search
Use specific keywords
Put quotation marks to be more specific about a word 
Try not to use words that aren't that specific,It could lead you to a whole different site than what you where looking for.

Core Values

                                                           RFD (Riders for life)

RFD is a organisation formed by Bubacarr Jallow & his wife. He formed RFD because when he & his wife took a trip to some rural parts of Africa, he some a lot of broken & damaged vehicles lying every where on the ground. They where broken due to bad care of the vehicles.
Another reason Bubacarr made RFD is because he knew that people where dying in the rural parts of Africa A LOT more than in the USA or Singapore.

I think the Core Values in this story is respect and compassion.
I would say compassion because Bubacarr is doing this for these people when he could have just said "Oh this isn't my problem because it isn't my country", but instead he helped these people.
I say respect because he is respecting these people by helping them.
